Solomon’s Island Wedding | A Trip Around the Island | Rhiannon + Garrett

If you know me, you know I am seriously obsessed with anything waterfront or remotely full of island vibes. Solomon’s Island, Maryland has held a special place in my heart for a few years now. Its the perfect mix of the coastal Maryland vibes, with a little sleepy town running on island time. But at nighttime? During the Summer your in a tropical paradise complete with a waterfront Tiki Bar.

I was a bartender at Tiki Bar Solomon’s back in 2017, where I first met Rhiannon.

Rhiannon is the kind of girl who bubbly, beautiful, and full of joy that everyone just instantly loves. She used to come into work during our late night shifts, and rave about my photographs- “If I ever get married, you are totally photographing my wedding!”

I ran into her again when I was bartending during the famous, Tiki Bar Solomon’s opening weekend this May and met her super sweet boyfriend. Just a few weeks later Garrett asked her to be his wife! Rhiannon instantly contacted me asking about engagement photos and I was so pumped to capture this time for them.

A week later, she reached back and asked if I was free the coming Thursday. Her brother & Garrett’s brother are military and both had gotten leave for the coming week. They decided to pull together an intimate wedding in less than two weeks, and I was even more excited to jump on board for this adventure! You would have never known this wedding did not take months to plan y’all. Rhiannon had snagged a stunning gown off the rack that fit her perfectly. Their vendors all came together to give them a perfect Thursday afternoon wedding day.

My favorite part of this wedding was how unique these two made their day! We truly explored and enjoyed every part of the beauty Solomon’s Island has to offer. We started with a ceremony under the historic lighthouse at Calvert Marine Museum; followed by a cocktail hour on the historic Skip deck Sailboat owned by the museum.

An intimate (and delicious!) reception dinner was held at the Lighthouse Solomon’s- one of the best seafood restaurants on the island! We snuck out for portraits on the beach overlooking the famous Solomon’s bridge. Then, we ran over to Tiki Bar Solomon’s to capture some portraits under the twinkling lights and have a world famous Mai-Tai.

This was truly one of the best weddings I’ve ever gotten to be a part of. It was such an honor to capture Rhiannon + Garrett’s wedding. I wish both of them a lifetime of happiness together!

Thank you to Vendors who made this possible!
