An Elegant Southern Summer Wedding at Woodlawn Slack Winery

Buckle up friends, this is a good one! I was asked to assist my sweet friend, Laura, last weekend for a wedding at Woodlawn.

If you haven’t been to a wedding at Woodlawn Slack Winery, you are missing out! The venue is nestled down at the very bottom of Southern Maryland. This dreamy historic venue boasts gorgeous water views. And, it has the most beautiful barn to dance the night away in with your friends + family.

Laura is the mastermind over at Laura Elizabeth Photography. I absolutely love getting to hang with her, and jumped at the opportunity to shoot at one of my favorite venues again.

Kira + Ryan are the sweetest couple, who trekked down here from their home in Manhattan, NY. Ryan grew up in good old Southern MD, so they decided to have their wedding day down here. Kira is the sweetest bride, and was absolutely stunning. Every detail of their day was so thoroughly planned and so beautiful to photograph.

These two said their “I Do’s” at St Johns and then we headed back down to Woodlawn to celebrate with lawn games, delicious food + dancing the night away.

Thankfully, every single member of Kira + Ryans wedding party-as well as guests, were fully vaccinated. This made the night so much more fun since guests were finally able to freely mingle at the reception. It was so nice to have a “normal” feeling wedding, and it made me miss all of these celebrations we had pre-covid. I cannot wait to see things getting back to normal and celebrate with so many couples this year who have been waiting to get married.
